Crock Pot Fruit Tart
This simple recipe can be done in a crock pot using canned fruit, chocolate chips, graham cracker crust and instant custard mix. It is delicious!!! My guests are always astonished that such a fabulous dessert can be prepared in a crock pot.
Prep: 15 min - Cook: 25 min - Cool: 1 hr
1 package (18 ounces) chocolate chips
1 package (8 ounces) instant vanilla custard mix
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup crushed graham crackers
1 stick of butter
2 cans mixed fruit in heavy syrup
PREHEAT the crock pot and melt the stick of butter.
TOSS in the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and vanilla extract.
MIX thoroughly with wooden spoon.
PRESS the crust against the bottom and 2" up the sides using the back of a spoon.
SPRINKLE the chocolate chips over the crust and spread out after they have softened.
SPRINKLE the dry custard mix evenly over the crust.
OPEN the cans of fruit and drain the syrup over the custard. There is no need to mix.
DUMP the drained fruit into the crock pot and gently spread evenly over the crust.
COOK at the HIGH setting for 5 minutes, then the LOW setting for 20 minutes.
COOL the crock pot insert by placing in the kitchen sink in water and ice. When completely cool, gently slide the tart onto a plate.
PLACE the mess in a bowl on the back porch overnight for the raccoons.
PURCHASE a fruit tart at Woodside bakery on your way to the dinner party. Tell everyone about the great crock pot recipe.
